Our favourite day, National Barramundi Day, took place on October 17th across Australia. Australian Barramundi Farmers and we celebrated the Day with all things barramundi! From a buzzing Farm Gate in Werribee to chef specials around Australia, Infinity Blue Barramundi marked National Barramundi Day with tastings, community fun, and plenty of sweet, buttery Australian barramundi.
What is National Barramundi Day?
National Barramundi Day falls on the third Friday of October each year. It’s a nationwide moment to celebrate an Australian favourite—supporting local producers, chefs, and fishmongers while encouraging more people to cook with sustainable, delicious barra. The initiative is organised by the Australian Barramundi Farmers Association.
Our celebrations at a glance
We kicked things off with a Farm Gate pre-party on Thursday, 16 October at our Werribee site (73–79 Lock Avenue, Werribee VIC):
- Benny’s Barra Roll popping up for hungry visitors
- Fresh Wyndham fillets available to take home for the weekend
- A prize draw to win a private farm tour of the world’s largest indoor barramundi farm







On National Barramundi Day itself (Friday, 17 October), our friends across Australia joined in:
- Restaurants & cafés showcased barramundi specials—from simple grilled plates to fragrant curries and zingy salads
- Selected fishmongers, including Fish in the Family, featured Infinity Blue fillets and shared cooking tips with customers
- Home cooks grabbed our fillets for weekend BBQs and family dinners
